Kari and Hannah, along with their son Kyler, are thrilled to call Apex, NC home! While they each moved to the Triangle for different reasons – Kari to begin her teaching career, and Hannah to fulfill her dream of living in a bigger city – their journey later led them to buy & sell a home with us in 2022 and 2023.

Kari and Hannah are both teachers – 3rd grade and PE, respectively. Kari is a James Madison alumni, and Hannah’s heart is with Wingate. As Carolina Panthers fans (Keep Pounding!) it’s awesome that they’re just 2.5 hours from the stadium/major metro of Charlotte, NC, while also being only 2.5 hours from Kure Beach, NC – their favorite vacation spot at Kari’s parent’s house. When asked what they love most about the Apex/Triangle area, Kari said “It has a suburbia feel while being within 10 minutes of quiet country life. I also love being within driving distance of both the mountains and beach.” Hannah says she loves living in Apex because “We have a ton of things to do within a short distance of our house. I come from a small town out in the country, so having a backyard where I can do yard work and enjoy nature is a huge perk.”

Not long after buying and selling their homes (because that’s not a crazy enough progress, right?) they were grateful to welcome their son, Kyler on May 2nd, 2023. Leading up to Kyler’s birth they’d been on several walks around the neighborhood and they’ve since enjoyed multiple food trucks their HOA schedules a couple times every month, and are definitely looking forward to many future pool days at their TWO neighborhood pools. It’s safe to say Kyler and their 8 year old Rottweiler, Sarabi, are enjoying their new home just as much as Kari and Hannah!

When they’re hanging out at home you can find Kari whipping up new recipes and Hannah helping with meal prep to make the most of their weeknights together. Sundays are filled with music, dancing, and family time in the kitchen which they both say is their favorite room in the house. The bonus room is a close second, and future first since as of right now it serves as a workout room, work from home space, and a reading nook, but they have a feeling it will be Ky’s favorite spot when it eventually becomes his playroom.

When they want to get out on the town they love trying new restaurants and some notable favorites are Anna’s Pizzeria, Mission Market, Fresh Local Ice Cream, Rudy’s, Salem Street Pub, and Apex Wings (their favorite take out spot).

We asked them what they admire most about each other and Hannah said “I love Kari’s passion for the people and things that she loves! Her loyalty and dedication are unlike anyone I have ever met and this has especially shown through in our transition to a family of 3.” Kari said “I love how seamlessly Hannah has transitioned into motherhood! It’s like she was made for this and I’m in awe of her each and every day as we work together to be the best moms to Ky we can be!” We certainly admire them both for being educators in North Carolina and wish all three of them, plus Sarabi, all the most amazing memories in their home.
